Give a Reason, Not an Excuse!! The Difference Between Winners and Losers.

Morning Folks!!

The day I stopped giving excuses in life was the day I became a success. Really. People tell me how it is hard for them to see opportunity where others do. So let's look at something that you may be able to see. An 'Excuse' is a very visible sign not only of failure, but giving up and not learning anything. An excuse is pathetic. And that makes the person using their energy to make the excuse, pathetic. If you are an excuse maker, I guess I just insulted you. Ok, that's life. Get insulted. That is what excuse makers do. They get insulted. They get angry. They deflect the conversation.

Did you know it takes more energy to make an excuse then to just fix it?

See that is the problem with excuse makers. They use all their energy in making excuses. Excuses have zero value because you are pretending there was no mistake and no REASON for a failure whether tiny or huge.

Now with a REASON, you have focused on WHY something did not go as planned. Why something went wrong and you have used your TIME to identify the REASON something did not go right. That means you can fix it. That means you can take a 'Setback' and still succeed while the other guy is fully invested in their failure. And it is a failure. It is not a setback.

Now let's compare the 2 people and why one is a winner in failure (set back) and one is a total loser in failure (failure). The guy with all the excuses learned nothing. The energy he used was not identifying the problem. It was excusing it. The other guy made no excuses, he just went down the entire path in his mind and looked for and then focused on where things went wrong. It was not about blame or excuses. It was about figuring it out.

So now we have these 2 people. One found an excuse, one found a reason. Both are given the task to do over again. Which person would you want to bet on to get it right the second time??

And that my friends is how you spot something BEFORE it happens. How you can anticipate because of behavior. Because losers always excuse and winners find reasons. The latter is a person filled with opportunity in life and the other is a walking disaster waiting for the next pitfall or obstacle to get out his book of excuses.

Which one do you want to hook your wagon to?

If I pissed you off and you are insulted by this post, have at it. But I am going to LMAO and then feel very sad that you are stuck when once again YOU had the opportunity to change your destiny in life. That is the single best visual I can give my readers of opportunity and what it looks like. Sometimes opportunity is simply a matter of eliminating the loser.

Happy New Years! Change your destiny for 2013 by changing your reaction. Change your reaction and there is nothing you can't accomplish. No REASON to make an EXCUSE.

Have a GREAT Day!

Rick Schwartz

I fully agree with this post. Sometimes the best way to learn is to try and fail. At least with SEO/domaining/websites in general.
It’s the people who learn from those mistakes and move on with the knowledge they gained that have a chance at real success. Those that make excuses and whine about the big bad Google, or whoever they feel were behind the setback, are the ones never get anywhere.
That’s one thing I always tell new people to SEO/building websites. Simply find a smaller niche and set some goals and get going. Way better than reading blogs/seo forums all day.

    Hello Rick,
I see very clearly the biggest failure our industry perpetuates and finds meaningless excuses to justify. The failure has been in our industries inability to tap into the largest pool of money being spent in the advertising industry.
Are we ready to let the excuses fly? or are we ready to correct this structural reality? Basically there are two pools of money willing to be spent. One is the vastly larger Advertising pool of money and the other is the direct navigation pool of money.
There are three rules to any market place.
    1. Go where the money is.
    2. Go where the money is.
    3. Go where the money is.
Would you rather be right ? OR look beyond the excuses to a solution ?

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist
sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”
There are no”failures”, they are just only delays.
I am a winner and always a winner and I always WANT TO WIN SOME MORE.

    Hello Rick,
Show the advertising Industry how mutually beneficial Direct navigation can be to their advertising campaigns and the skies will open. To get answers you need to go where answers are.

    Be winners all the time:
-If 5 seconds of smiling can make your photograph more beautiful, then just imagine, if you always keep smiling, how beautiful your life will be.
-Focus on positive things not negative things because whatever you focus your attention on becomes important to you even if it’s unimportant. So why to think negative?
-Keep your words and thoughts positive because they may eventually become your actions.
-Everything happens for a reason, live it, love it, learn from it! Make your smile change the world, But don’t let the world change your smile.
-People will always throw stones in your path! What you do from it depends on you A Wall of difficulties or A Bridge of success.
-If you start the week with a positive attitude on Monday, it’ll be a lot easier to fight off negativity the rest of the week.
-Every darkness followed by brightness, that’s life. Live it and never give up.
-When a million things can bring you down, find one reason to keep you up.
-A negative thinker makes everything worse, heavier, and harder. A positive thinker makes everything better, lighter, and easier.
-You have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your life.
-No excuses. Your Positive Thoughts will create Feelings-> Take Charge/Action -> Result->Winner !
Have a smile right from the morning of 2013 !

I lost a lot of money at first. My friends stole from and also demanded I give them half my company.
In the end yes I learned this post’s advice on my own the hard way. Made a nice comeback and told all my friends to go to hell. Losers are everywhere. Seems such simple advice to follow but people appear to be to stupid to.

To say someone is a ” loser” or a “winner” is all dependant of what the priorities are for the individual. “Success” is a relative term. If a person is able to be content with what he or she as then for him or her there is success…If we for whatever reason misappropriate the resources we have then there are consequences. The willingness to learn from mistakes and to make an honest appraisal of your weaknesses and strengths is sometimes necessary…At times though despite the best efforts of well meaning people to make a success of them themselves there is suffering as a result of having to deal with this corrupt morally bankrupt system of things. Family problems mentel health issues depression failing health money problems a lack of self control… The failures of religious leaders to teach people why God allows suffering all contributes to how a persons perspective can be distorted… The application of Bible Principles lead to a persons ability to make a success of themselves…In the end Gods Kingdoms will solve all of the things that have plagued mankind..
