Bloomberg: Risk of Foreign Domains. Describes Vulnerability of Extensions other than .Com and .Net

Afternoon folks!!

An entire registry went down this week and Google Palestine was hacked. We saw first hand ujst how fragile some of the DNS infrastructure is and if you have a gTLD, this WILL directly affect you and your futures.

"Widely used domains such as .com and .net are operated by registrars such as VeriSign and NeuStar, which have security features that cost as little as $50 a year to prevent tampering with Web-address records. But many regional domains are managed by local companies that don't offer the same protections, said Paco Hope, a principal consultant with Cigital Inc., a cybersecurity consultancy.

In some places, only one company may be in charge of managing a country's domain, leaving customers such as Google vulnerable should employees at the local company get hacked, Hope said."

The entire article is here. And my story last week is here.

I object to the inference that dot Net is managed by Neustar.

And as an IDN investor I would like to point out that my domains are every bit as much a part of the VeriSign Dot Com Registry as yours

English language as Esperanto of global business hasn’t diminished. The quarter million primary schools in China pumping out tens of millions of little ESL’ers certainly doesn’t help your case in the long run. The saddest tale in the saga of “IDN investors” isn’t in the failed paths taken but rather the titanic opportunities you missed in pinyin. Conceptually, you buttholes were first movers on the scene yet rejected it on the basis of shitty logic and insular narratives. Now, nigh a decade on, as quality pinyin sees more in and out action than a $5 Bangkok whore you retards are STILL standing at the dock, saluting the horizon, hoping for any sign of a ship that is looking increasingly less and less likely to ever come in. Now, head back to that little anus of a forum, blather your pedant anti-American horseshit with the other losers and keep on hoping the world will change to fit your needs. (Protip: It will not)

I will enter a logical argument once you have established a logical framework.

In the meantime just keep barking at the moon.
