T.R.A.F.F.I.C. TO HOLD EMERGENCY SECURITY SESSION AT SOUTH BEACH

Morning Folks!!

If you have read Mike Berken's Blog yesterday you will know that there is a serious secuirty problem in the domain industry and it can't be ignored and swept under the rug any longer.

Identity theft, impersonation, and if one victim is correct, there is a thief among us, someone with a lot of knowledge about the domain industry, how the business works, who the players are.

Thanks to Mike Berkens and Dr. Christopher Hartnett, the danger that Domainers face everyday has been exposed and new ways of protecting and securing our assets will be brought out by a panel of experts, including Dr. Christopher Hartnett, Registrars, and security analysts. Also it is a PERFECT time to address this to Congressman Stearns. It is time to stop the slimeballs who prey on honest Domainers and take control.

Have a GREAT Day!
Rick Schwartz

UPDATE: This is just the dirty little secret that so many DON’T want to talk about. Mostly registrars and auction houses. They NEED to be part of this panel. They NEED to be out front on this. They NEED to do more. They NEED to listen to their own customers or somebody will come and SWOOP them away!Domainers have certain responsibilities as well.To partake in this very important discussion. Please email me to be included in South Beach.

In my opinion, this”thief among us” is a little rich as most domainers are thieves by the way they squat on domains…
However, I am not talking about the average squatter, I am talking about one who squats on a great name, takes a big crap all over it and calls it a mini-site…

I would like to see a demo from Harnett’s hacker- show us where these vulnerabilities are- how to detect them? What’s the true story about MACS and iPhones because these seem to be web based objects that work on any op systems. (I mean the one Harnett hired to fix things, not the perpetrator

Thieves and scammers need to be exposed on the forums and through domain sites.
False sales listed and scam new extentions are ripe with thieves who ply their trade each time a dotmobi or .co extention comes into existence.
Those are the threats. It is happening every day on the forums. People who blatently lie and cheat and get away with it.
That is why most forums are GHOST TOWNS. Until these dirtbags are thrown out and shunned nothing matters.
Places like Sedo should publicly out shill bidders and expose them. Those who run the domain forums protect the scammers.
    This is problem number one.

    Totally agree m8!
The majority of people on the forums selling traffic domains are scammers. I’ve been testing traffic domains for the past 6 months on several forums and I can tell you that 80% of the domains I’ve been offered are ramped to hell with dodgy redirects and bought traffic!
These are sad and desperate mongrels with no scruples who will try and have you over in a blink. I feel sorry for all the newbies, not a good introduction to the industry..
    Blatant thieves!

The reality is, most domainers just don’t have the experience and are not qualified to give advice on this subject. Its just like hiring a lawyer, you need the *right* advice.
Over 18 months ago I wrote an article on how to”Keep Your Domains Safe From Thieves and Hijackers”.
    Hope it helps.
