Pigeon Shit for ME may be an Opportunity for YOU.

Morning Folks!!

I have quite a portfolio of NNN.mobi domains and 1 word .mobi I may or may not renew for those into 'Keyword' domains.

If anyone is interested, contact me. And just remember for all these guys yelling SEO and Keywords domain names, the ones on the bottom of the list should be of interest. If these SEO and keyword guys can't do anything with .mobi, why would anyone believe they can do it with 1000 .whatevers? That has always been my big question?? Cuz according to them, the extension does not matter. The keyword does. So are they FULL OF SHIT??

    Henry,
Investing is learning that it is just as important to lose as it is to win.
You can’t win without losing. Most can’t accept that and then they are stuck.

This Rick is one of the most profound things you have ever said.

Rick, it would be quite interesting if you could write an article about how you see ccTlds nowadays.
I hope you take the sugestion.

Hi Rick we all take punts on new tlds when the come out, time after time we always get fingers burnt. .com is always king followed by country code were you stay.

    joao,
Nothing to write. ccTLD’s are fine if you are targeting the local market.
They work. Just depends where you are. But even if one has a ccTLD, it could never hurt him to have the .com version. So there will always be a demand for that.

There was a logic to this that was worth a shot. All those NNN.mobi’s are US area codes.mobi.
Too bad the .mobi registry turned out to be a pigeon for domainers. Note I say”for domainers” as they still seem to have a profitable number of domains registered so ther registry business is probably worthwhile.
Most of these new .whatever registry’s will be pigeons for domainers, so many so that it is either going to be seriously crazy or take some crazy balls to invest in one. People still will though, looks like especially on .web, which I still don’t get?
But like Mike Berkins keeps pointing out, these registry’s don’t NEED to be good for domainers. They just need to be profitable.

I’ll develop cruises.mobi as I think it could be a high ranking domain. split me in on the cruises.mobi 50/50 if I get it to rank top 10 of google within a year? (top 10 as its a highly competitive keyword)
    Here are my nameservers:

I think you proved just being FIRST and EARLY is sometimes more important than at the other BS.

i dont think posts require approval. someone just signed up and posted couple hours ago. make sure you clicked the confirmation email you got when you signed up (if there was one, maybe spam folder?)
anyway, that forum is pretty much dead – all the fanboys and hypesters are gone and the admin is doing other things these days. it would have been interesting though if this post was made 3 years ago. people would have accused you of”ruining prices.” truth is .mobi prices had no real reason to be so high so soon in the first place but i dont think even the most critical of observers would have thought it’d fall this low. NNN.mobi at one point were $700ea minimum and crap like ZXV.mobi had no business at $200ea…domain trading cards was all they were.

Maybe it was cuz I said how stupid I was to invest $200k on Flowers.mobi
Maybe it was spammy. But I did not mention any domains and did not even post a link.
Looks like I did pretty good w/o the post.
2 new partners and a little hope.

I love these people always bitching about something or being happy someone much more successful made mistake.
Even best players in any niche makes mistakes or buys something with higher expectations.
15 years ago 99,9999% of population knew sh!t about domains. In this biz you sometimes don’t know how things work out.
Anyway wow.mobi has some development potencial, some mobile APP for WOW.

    everything has”potential for development”
translation: if you put in hard, thoughtful, meaningful work..you may see returns. but nobody has ever argued against that. its two completely different discussions. from a simple domaining perspective the point is irrelevant.

Sure beats paying the”suits” $400 an hour and long months of back and forth BS legal bickering over each clause in those 40 page deal agreements.

Would be interested in eat.mobi. Had send mail but no reply. Whats the asking price? Or if you want me to co-develop (as I have other domains related to that) I could point them to one of the sites. Let me know your terms or the price for sale.
