Mike Mann or Frank Schilling. Schilling made an impact for others, Mann made most impact for himself. You be the judge.

Definitely no Mike Mann. Its quite visible that many domainers do not like him – mainly because of his unpleasent attitude and constant talking that he is giving money to charity. I have seen many times his comments on blogs when he was offending others.
Maybe he is good as domain investor but his personality is simply rubbish.

Glad to see that Mr Wieland isn’t flying under the radar any more. He’s got a great future. And he’s from Chicago so that’s worth a few extra points by itself.

    All good names…
Braden Pollock is mentoring, advising and generally helping out a huge portion of the domaining community I think he really is a front runner along with Michael Cyger for adding countless hours of value information on this industry and development in general. I’d say Frank Schilling, but think 2013 will be a bigger year from him as the gTLD space unfolds.
So many good names up there.

The industry continues to need visionaries and heroes, and for that reason, Frank gets my vote. That said, Michael Cyger and Ron Jackson spend countless hours bringing us more of these much-needed stories and absolutely deserve this recognition. For those same reasons, my name certainly does not belong on this list, but appreciate the gesture regardless.

Not Mike Mann his tastless spamming of domainers from domainmarket killed it for him, if he is so rich, why does he need to spam the same damn names everyday.

Rick, good enough list, however would you mind placing few words in front of each name displaying why do they deserve to be the”nominees for DOMAINER OF THE YEAR” at T.R.A.F.F.I.C.
    Cheers & good luck everyone!

Unfortunately, they are doing this all the time.

You forgot Andrew Reberry, the owner of HugeDomains, one of the largest active domainers in the entire industry right now. He buys 300-400 domain names each day.

My personal vote is for Michael Cyger.
HIs DomainSherpa.com podcasts benefit the little guys who are still testing the waters with domains, and his efforts are interesting enough to the big players that they gladly sign up to be interviewed.
He’s brought an outside perspective to the industry — one based more on facilitating others than making personal conquests. And he has filled in a very real gap.
Basically, he’s connecting domainers to domainers in a way different from what blogs and forums can do. What could be more real or relevant than sitting in on conversation with Rick Schwartz, Adam Dicker, Frank Schilling, and many other successful or innovative professionals?
I think that any domainer out there, if someone curious about domaining showed up, would recommend that they go check out DomainSherpa and listen to some interviews. And that consensus speaks for itself.

As far as doing something revolutionary in the domain space, the two who seemed to have ‘brought it’ this year are Cyger and Schilling.
There are other sites just like DomainSherpa in other topical niches- I assume he took the lead from those and just applied it to domaining- but no matter, he’s the one who did it, he’s the one who invested the effort, he’s the one who deserves the accolades for it. There’s nobody else in the entire domain infosphere that’s delivering domain related content anywhere near his quality level. Personally speaking he doesn’t strike me as the sort of dude I could have a beer with without being mildly annoyed every time he spoke, but he deserves enormous professional credit for what he’s done.
Schiling with InternetTraffic.com appears to be a very, very big deal to those who are involved with it, but it’s a closed-circuit sort of thing.
I guess I’d have to cast my vote for Cyger simply because heaping accolades on Frank Schilling is superfluous at this point (he’s already been elected undisputed god) and because what Cyger is doing benefits a lot more people, has a much wider audience and has unintended, positive effects such as helping domainers define themselves, rather than allowing themselves to be defined.
    His site is very important.
I vote for Cyger for both Domain Blog of the year and domainer of the year.
